Impact Weapons Components New Site and Giveaway

Impact Weapons Components (IWC) has a brand new website. It is a huge improvement over the old site and offers some really cool functionality. Most importantly, the new site is much easier to navigate than the old site.

The coolest feature is the ability to shop by hand guard/rail. You can choose your hand guard from the list on the left side of the screen and the site links you directly to all of the MOUNT-N-SLOTs that will work your hand guard. No more guess work! You can also compare features and prices of IWC’s MOUNT-N-SLOTs to products from other manufacturers. This new site should really empower you to make an informed decision about your gear.

IWC has provided me with a couple of 2 to 1 Point Triglides to giveaway in celebration of the opening the new site. I have a 1″ and a 1.25″ version to giveaway. Long time readers will remember my review of “The Triglide” a few months ago. These things are hot and they are showing up at several sling manufacturers as OEM gear. Now is your chance to win one free of charge from IWC and Jerking the Trigger.

To Enter:

All that you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post that contains something that you like about the new site and something specific that you think can be improved about the new site. Please be specific and thorough. IWC will be using this input to make the new site even better.

Rules:

The giveaway will be open until 8PM (EST) Saturday, May 28th. There will be 2 winners chosen randomly. Your comment number is your entry number and numbers will be chosen using a random number generator. Please follow the instructions carefully. Incomplete entries will be discarded. Good luck!

The new website is great and easier to navigate then the last website. The tabs on both sides make the website easy to navigate to exactly what you want.

Yes you can choose which handguard/rail system you have but for those that aren’t so technically inclined or can make the association that the JP/Modular handguards are similar to the the Troy and VTAC handguards, it might throw people off so I would change and make a tab that reads tubular handguards or something to that effect.

Like: The site has a very user-friendly layout

Improve: A wider variety of products, more of a one stop shop deal. I tend to order things in larger quantities if I can get it all in one place

Much easier to navigate! I like it! I will be posting a link to it on my website. Mine is still a work in progress, but my link page works! Hopefully I can get some traffic for you!

the ability to select your equipment and then see the available accessories is really great. i don’t have to have the compatibility spreadsheet open when i navigate the site anymore. good stuff.

  9. Jason V. May 8, 2011 at 12:19 #

    like: equipment pulldown selector

    improve: clickable history navigation.

    example: home>handgaurds/buttstocks>magpul moe>light accessories

    like: very easy to navigate

improve: seemed a little slow to load different tabs (although it could just be my mac not 100% sure)

  11. mitch May 9, 2011 at 20:12 #

    Love the new site!

Improvement: A photo of the handguard/IWC accessories pops up when you scroll over it in the side-bar.

    Just thought of another one

a “continue shopping” button in the checkout page that takes you back to the previous product page you were viewing.

  15. Ben May 12, 2011 at 19:55 #

Something I like: I like the giant drop down tabby things

Improve: PLEASE make the pictures bigger when you click down the drop down. Guys (myself included) are very visual. Oh and Maybe some hot chicks using the products?

  16. Adam May 14, 2011 at 18:45 #

Positive: Very easy to navigate and search.

Negative: Would be nice to see 5-10 links to older/other stories at the end of a story maybe that are relevant just so you have something else to jump to.

  17. Tony B May 14, 2011 at 19:05 #

Like: no Flash Player required. That is good for us iPad users.

Improve: Shop by menus need to include mil-spec rails. There is no option for what will fit all mil-spec rails, such as LaRue. Not everyone knows that a Daniel Defense rail is basically the same as LaRue and the rest.

A HUGE improvement over the old site. Very happy to have them as a member of the AR15CHATTERBOX forum. Great people to work with. Have one of their Scout light mounts and it’s “da bomb” 🙂

Improvements? Continue to develop more great products!

  21. Lance H May 16, 2011 at 18:40 #

New website is leaps and bounds better. I’m loving the search by hand guard function!

Don’t really like the menus on the left having the roll over flash function. I would rather click to expand the category I want.

Thanks for the comments & suggestions. We’ve implemented some changes already!!! IWC Moves Fast!

To see improvements, “reload” the page to view the new changes.

    Here’s a summary:
Ben, Vince & DoubleAught… Bigger pics!
Jason… History, or as IWC’s CIO calls it… Bread Crums!
Mitch… Continue Shopping button added to every cart page.

Good stuff you guys. Keep the suggestions coming!!!

Pic quality is nice. Navigation is better. Its not so much the website, as how you listen to customers, follow the rest of the market out there, adapt or create products that solve problems or enhance other manufacturers parts and products. And your damn quick about it too!

I’d like to see package pricing for combo deals, like QD MOE mounts
(sorted by lengths of course..) and a tri-glide with a sling for a nice price.

  24. Brad May 19, 2011 at 11:44 #

Something I like: The new web site is much easier to navigate and loads and has a faster response time.

Something I think can be improved on:
The drop down menu on the left edge is kind of hard to use. It’s very fast and jumps around. Doesn’t seem to math graphically to the tabs on the top pf the web page. Maybe try to make those two match better or look consistent.

  25. James W. Martinez-Ruiz May 19, 2011 at 20:38 #

When you put the mouse arrow over the image of any item, this will conects you to the item page.

  27. Kyle Citzler May 21, 2011 at 23:13 #

What I like: how you can search by forearm type and function type.

What could be improved: instructions on how to install the components.

The new website is way better than the old site. Keep up the great work Earl.

  28. Lyle Knaack May 24, 2011 at 13:11 #

I like the tactical handyman, many good ideas.

    • Matt May 24, 2011 at 16:02 #

Thank you Lyle. There are a few more Tactical Handyman posts that I hope to get put together this summer.

  29. Roger May 28, 2011 at 17:31 #

The new website looks good. The 2 to 1 works great!

  30. Brian F May 28, 2011 at 18:13 #

Great job on the site and the pulldown menu on the left hand side. Only suggestion would be to separate the buttons a little more as they are stacked closely on each other.

  31. Jason Siemens May 28, 2011 at 18:34 #

Likes: Multiple ways to look for the same item by either manufacturer or by what the item is used for. Also, like that you have links to reviews from other sites.

Improvements: Wish the drop down menus would not switch so fast.

    Great looking products.
